Distance 70 km, Time 1 H 15 M
Distance incl. Sky Road 90 km, Time 2 H

A leisurely ride along a very scenic stretch of the N59. The N59 between Westport and Leenaun is considered to be one of the most scenic routes in Ireland.

bike killary

Stop in Leenaun and enjoy the view of Killary Harbour, one of only three fjords in Ireland. A little further on the N59 is Kylemore Abbey. It's a big tourist attraction, but a little overrated in my opinion.

connemara national park

More to my taste is Connemara National Park in Letterfrack. Take an hour or two and explore one of the trails through the bog.

bog road

Before you get to Clifden you can turn right and follow the Sky Road with its magnificent views of the sea. The Sky road will eventually take you to Clifden.

If you want to go a little further, you can take the N59 through Connemara as far as Galway.
